The earnings of the Atencio endowment for teacher training are earmarked for scholarship awards for undergraduate and/or graduate students who intend to teach in public schools and are in great need of financial assistance to complete an education course in the Ateneo Science and Art of Learning and Teaching (SALT) Institute and the different schools and departments of the Ateneo de Manila University that offer teacher education. The scholarship for Atencio Teacher Scholars shall fully or partially cover tuition and fees, dorm rental, meals, school supplies, and other expenses normally encountered by scholars.
Providing scholarships opens an entire future for our less fortunate but nonetheless talented young Filipinos. Scholars will be given the opening they need to lead meaningful lives in the love and service of others.
